Session 3 – Atmosphere
About Course
This month we begin with atmosphere—the quiet, formative influence of daily life in the home. Before any instruction is given, children are educated by what surrounds them: the order or disorder of the space, the pace of the day, the way work is approached, how mistakes are handled, and what is consistently noticed or ignored. These ordinary conditions teach continually, whether we are aware of them or not.
Atmosphere reflects what we value. A home that makes room for order teaches care and responsibility. A home that treats mistakes as part of learning teaches courage and perseverance. A home that allows time for questions, observation, and conversation teaches curiosity and thoughtfulness. This month’s work is not about managing behaviour or creating a prescribed “feel,” but about learning to see the educational power already present in your home and making small, intentional adjustments so that what your children absorb aligns more closely with the life you are hoping to grow.
