Who we are
We are the Matchstick family who have taken it upon ourselves to “live life to the full. We have 7 children , the eldest is married and working as a Speech Therapist in the UK the youngest is still in primary school! We are from South Africa and have over the past 21 years we have lived between KZN and Cape Town ~ with a number of months and years spent living on the road in between the two. We have mostly home educated our children with short stints in the school system. We love people, coffee, food and Jesus – not necessarily in that order. Our days are busy and full of school, music making, stage performing, dancing, reading, beaching and food making, food eating oh and did I mention food?
How The Parent Heart Began?
Over the years of being parents and home educators, Neil and Joanne have developed a passion to see family units strengthened, with children who grow up to reach the potential that each has been given. Yet, as they looked around they realised how few resources and how little community or support was available for parents in this crucial season of raising the next degeneration of citizens and leaders. It was upon this background that The Parent Heart was founded.
Who Is Joanne?
Joanne is the lifeblood of The Parent Heart – as mom to 7 children, wife, home maker, Qualified Remedial Teacher, Life Coach and mentor she has for he last 16+ years supported many, many families in their journey of parenthood. She comes long side parents with consults, workshops, books, recourses, mentorships and more to assist them in in raising their beautiful children to become all they were created to be, so that they can live their lives to the full and birth upon earth – what they were created to birth – and in all this for mom to not loose who she is and all she was created to do and be within and without of her Being Mom.
